Renaissance Festival – Houston Texas

It was a Barbarian weekend... Seriously. I saw a man drinking out of a horn, and it was amazing. For those who haven't been to a Renaissance Fair, this is a gathering on different Themed Weekends  which recreate a historical feel for entertainment. Yes, it was very entertaining.  Even if this festival just consisted of people watching, it would be worth it. The costumes are amazing! There were so many people! It was much bigger then I expected. The park is actually 55…

Milan Italy

Wow... Just wow This trip seemed to come up quicker then I expected. My roommate Jen (and former Travel buddy in Ireland and Norway) was invited to be a bridesmaid in Sicily. SO! We made a girls trip out of it. Our former roommate Candace who lives in Tennessee met us there. They had both been to Italy before but it was my first time. I want to give a quick shout out to Emirates. What a fabulous airline. A…

Enchanted Rock Austin Texas

Winter is interesting in Texas. There are days that can chill you to the bone, and others you go camping. A group of us recently went out to Enchanted Rock in Llano Texas. This is a huge pink granite rock in the middle of Texas that rises 425 feet above the ground and covers 640 acres. There is camping at the site but book early in advance. They fill up quick. We reserved at a different camp site called Oxford…

Guilty… and I know it

Guilty! I haven't written in a while... and I know it. I got a new job in December and it has thrown my blogging off for a good couple months. UGH! This is why I started this blog! To become location independent and travel. I still have desires to make that happen. I am VERY grateful for my current job and really appreciate my boss and co workers. They all work so hard and are so helpful to me as…

Bergen Norway

Bergen Norway is an amazing place to visit I love this family! They have been all over the world, and are the best of friends. They really know how to travel (with kids especially).  They are living in Bergen right now for work and travel all over Europe when they can. We are staying with them for a week. We came into Bergen late that night and talked late into the night. We woke up early the next morning for…

Oslo Norway!

The flight from Dublin into Oslo was not bad. Ryan Air is really the way to go when traveling throughout Europe. We only had a day and wanted to make the most out of it. Oslo is an interesting city. We walked off the plane and automatically dropped on the hotness scale. Everyone there was gorgeous. The hostel was the most expensive on the whole trip. $90 a night to stay in an 8 bedroom dorm. It was worth it.…

My Travels to Ireland

I did it! I finally took a trip to Europe. It was worth every penny. I have had a goal for over 5 years to get there. Thanks to my adventurous roommate we bought the tickets and had an amazing time. Here are a few highlights from the trip: Our flight was from Austin>DC>Dublin. I was able to sleep on the flight. I woke up refreshed only to find that Jen had a horrible flight :/ Driving on the other…

Camping at McKinney Falls state Park

Who likes winter camping? I can't say that I really do. But I made it a goal to go more this year. I bought myself a good sleeping bag and pad. The world is my oyster! January in Texas is interesting. Right now I am out by the pool in 70 degree weather writing this blog post. 2 days ago, it was in the 30s. We braved the cold anyway. Who doesn't love a campfire with hot coco. A few…

Top Tips for Driving in Ireland

I was terrified... If you are reading this post you are probably in the same position OR you are just looking for others experience. Well here you go. I was terrified... But I did it! My roommate Jen and I are Americans and booked our tickets not knowing exactly what was in store. We had a friend go a few months back and asked about her experience. They rented a car to get around, which is what I suggest. Unless…
